Dichiarazione sull’investimento di Jim Ratcliffe nel Manchester United
L’FC United rileva che la famiglia Glazer ha finalmente venduto il 25% del Manchester United Football Club a Jim Ratcliffe e lui ha promesso di fornire più di 230 milioni di sterline di investimenti disperatamente necessari.
Aspetteremo di vedere quale, se presente, differenza significativa porterà questo cambiamento di struttura e di investimenti al club che tutti amiamo. Anche se il coinvolgimento di Ratcliffe potrebbe portare ad alcuni cambiamenti positivi, non crediamo che sarà sufficiente a cambiare le questioni profondamente radicate nel Manchester United o nel calcio moderno, dove i tifosi vengono regolarmente trattati con disprezzo.
Siamo consapevoli che la famiglia Glazer manterrà ancora una quota di controllo del 75% nel club, quindi sarà libera di continuare a ottenere grandi dividendi ignorando le opinioni dei tifosi.
Disastro assoluto
La proprietà del Manchester United da parte dei Glazers è stata un disastro assoluto con quasi 2 miliardi di sterline sottratti al club e ai suoi tifosi. Migliaia di rossi hanno combattuto contro la presa di potere ostile di Malcolm Glazer nel 2005 e i suoi figli rimangono oggi sgraditi.
Ci auguriamo che il coinvolgimento di Ratcliffe significhi che il Manchester United e i tifosi siano trattati con il rispetto che meritano, cosa che purtroppo è mancata durante il regime di Glazer.
Rispetta i tifosi
Per decenni, il Manchester United e numerose altre squadre di calcio in tutto il Regno Unito sono diventate giocattoli di ricchi benefattori dalla dubbia morale ed etica. Queste persone non apprezzano né rispettano i tifosi, che sono – e saranno sempre – la linfa vitale del gioco.
Crediamo che il calcio nel suo insieme debba essere posseduto e guidato dai normali tifosi che vanno alle partite. Sosteniamo fortemente che i club siano interamente di proprietà dei loro sostenitori. Come minimo assoluto, dovrebbe esserci un migliore coinvolgimento dei tifosi nel calcio in modo che abbiano una voce significativa su questioni importanti.
Oltre a subire furti di denaro ai propri club, la maggior parte dei tifosi non ha voce in capitolo nel processo decisionale. Le loro opinioni sono ampiamente ignorate e sono regolarmente soggetti a prezzi esorbitanti dei biglietti, orari antisociali del calcio d’inizio e cattivo trattamento nei giorni delle partite.
100% di proprietà dei fan
Per questo motivo la lotta continua. Indipendentemente da chi possiede il Manchester United, l’FC United continuerà ad essere posseduto al 100% dai nostri tifosi, offrendo allo stesso tempo calcio a prezzi accessibili per tutti nel nostro campo di Broadhurst Park, finanziato dai tifosi.

Statement on Jim Ratcliffe’s investment into Manchester United
FC United notes the Glazer family has finally sold 25% of Manchester United Football Club to Jim Ratcliffe and he has promised to provide more than £230 million of desperately needed investment.
We’ll wait to see what, if any, significant difference this change of structure and investment will bring to the club we all love. Even though Ratcliffe’s involvement could see some positive changes, we do not believe it will be enough to change the deep-rooted issues at Manchester United or in modern football where supporters are regularly treated with disdain.
We are mindful that the Glazer family will still hold a controlling 75% stake in the club, so they will be free to continue extracting large dividends whilst ignoring supporters’ views.
Unmitigated disaster
The Glazers’ ownership of Manchester United has been an unmitigated disaster with almost £2 billion taken from the club and its supporters. Thousands of Reds fought against Malcolm Glazer’s hostile takeover in 2005 and his sons remain unwelcome today.
We hope Ratcliffe’s involvement will mean that Manchester United and the fans are treated with the respect they deserve, which has been sadly lacking during the Glazer regime.
Respect the fans
For decades, Manchester United and numerous other football clubs across the UK have become playthings of rich benefactors with dubious morals and ethics. These people do not value or respect the fans, who are – and always will be – the lifeblood of the game.
We believe that football as a whole should be owned and led by ordinary match-going fans. We strongly advocate clubs being fully owned by their supporters. As an absolute minimum, there should be better supporter engagement across football so that they have a meaningful voice on important issues.
As well as having money stolen from their clubs, most fans have no say in the decision-making process. Their views are widely disregarded, and they are regularly subjected to extortionate ticket prices, anti-social kick-off times, and poor treatment on match days.
100% fan-owned
Due to this, the fight continues. Regardless of who owns Manchester United, FC United will continue to be 100% owned by our fans whilst offering affordable football for everyone at our fan-funded Broadhurst Park ground.
